The following information is a summary of the key progression requirements. Full information regarding progression requirements is available in the Progression and Unsatisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
» Progression and Unsatisfactory Academic Progress Policy
Fail 50% or more of credit points in last six months
If you fail 50% or more of credit points attempted in the previous six months of enrolment you are identified as being At Risk. This means you have failed a progression rule that could lead to sanctions in future sessions.
You will receive advice from us that you are "at risk" of being placed on conditional enrolment.
Should you then pass less than 50% of credit points attempted during your last 2 enrolled sessions, you will be placed on conditional enrolment.
Multiple failure of units
Being "at risk" of exclusion for a multiple failure of units means that you have failed the same unit, or it’s equivalent on two separate occasions which could lead to sanctions in future sessions.
You will receive advice from us that you are “at risk” of being excluded for a twelve month period.
Pass less than 50% of credit points in last twelve months of enrolment
If you have passed less than 50% of credit points attempted over a twelve month period of enrolment you will be placed on conditional enrolment in a reduced load for the following twelve months.
If you are a full time student the reduced load must not exceed 30 credit points, or 10 credit points for a part time student, in each of the Autumn and Spring Sessions.
You are not permitted to enrol in other sessions while on conditional enrolment.
If you have been placed on conditional enrolment but have an approved leave of absence, your conditional enrolment will take place once your leave of absence has finished. You should consult with your Course Advisor or Head of Program prior to completing your re-enrolment for additional assistance with study planning.
You have the right of appeal against conditional enrolment.
Pass less than 50% of credit points in last six months of enrolment while on conditional enrolment
If you have passed less than 50% of credit points attempted over a six month period whilst on conditional enrolment, you will receive advice from us that you are “at risk” of exclusion. You are encouraged to discuss your future study plans with Support Services for Students and your Head of Program.
