Important Dates
Once you enrol in a course of study, your progression through to graduation will be dependent upon meeting minimum success rates and correctly re-enrolling.
Progression checks are undertaken twice each year, at the end of Autumn and Spring Session. Your academic progress may be assessed at other times to take into account late grades, deferred exam results, summer session or courses taught over four terms.
Progression is designed to identify poorly performing students. This enables identified students to initiate steps to address poor performance, explore other options and prevent them from incurring significant costs by continued poor academic performance.
You must ensure that you are able to access your student email account during progression periods and ensure your University mailing address is up to date. There are strict deadlines for submission of any appeal you may wish to make against your progression status.
As your end of session results will be checked against the progression rules, you should be familiar with what they are. If you are identified as being "at risk" of failing the rules this could lead to sanctions - such as conditional enrolment or exclusion.
If you think you may be "at risk" you are encouraged to seek immediate assistance from your Head of Program and/or Student Support.
If you are an International Student and your academic progress is not satisfactory you may face additional difficulties. For example, the Department of Immigration may not grant a visa extension or may even cancel your existing student visa.
