Information For

Student Welfare Services

Falling behind with the rent? Got a problem with Centrelink? Having a disciplinary meeting and don´t know what to do? It would be nice to get a break and just be able to concentrate on nothing but study while we´re at uni, but life sometimes manages to get in the way.

Thankfully, there´s somewhere you can go on campus to help you out. Student Welfare Services have staff who are professionally trained to deal with problems affecting students
anything from academic appeals and exclusions, Centrelink problems, financial issues, discipline and other problems that sometimes crop up during the session. Welfare officers can offer advice and ongoing support and advocacy to help you work through the unexpected problems that sometimes catch you by surprise. If you´re having a hard time financially, the service is where to get help with emergency food vouchers, book vouchers for academic textbooks, and loans for university and living expenses during session.

Sometimes you might need to seek assistance from other services, such as Counselling or a government agency. The welfare officers can help you with information and advice about where to go, as well as providing any support needed in accessing the right services.
